Well, hasn't the time just flown by? This week will see the final Bendigo & District Concert Band events for the year 2009. The first is: The Kennington Carols. This is the second year we have done this event, however, it is still really a play it by ear situation. Many of you may be lucky to have members of my school band sit in with you. If this is the case, try and be patient, and helpful. The Carols part commences at 7:30 pm, though it would be great to have everyone seated by 7:10 to tune and maybe run through a few items to warm up with.

On thursday evening we will commence rehearsal as normal, have a look at a few of the new charts which have arrived, then finish early, so we can have a bit of a social. I think this will be a good way to finish the year off with a bang.

If you think about the events of this year, it has been quite a big one. Starting with Australia Day, Bushfire Relief Concert with Manningham, Easter, returning to marching, competing at Bendigo, Ballarat, and Maryborough. As well as the 2 performances for the Bendigo & District Astronomical Society the the Discovery Centre and the Star Cinema. Also in there was our 20th Anniversary celebrations too! Despite all that, we have also still had some opportunities to have 2 come and try nights, regular rehearsals, and our regular xmas performances as well. This would have to have been not only one of our busiest years, but also one of our most successful ones as well.

As a MD, I can say I am really proud with how the band has committed itself and performed throughout the year.
On behalf of the committee, I would like to wish all our members and performers the compliments of the season. Pleas take care over the xmas period and I will see you all for our first performance on the 14th of January 2010.
Cheers
Jason
